Social Toddler™? Is this a site for children, or grownups?

It's a site for grownups trying to manage their children's busy schedules. Birthday parties, playdates, playgroups, oh my. It's not easy keeping track of your social butterflies so we hope our site will help.

My child isn't a toddler. Can we still use the site?

Of course, we love kids of all ages. Our focus is on providing tools for parents with young children, whether they are babies, toddlers, or bigger kids.

It this site for moms or dads?

It's for both. And grandparents, nannies, and teachers too. It's for any adult that has a social toddler™ in their life.

Is my information safe?

We take security very seriously, for both you and your children. We've implemented a number of features to ensure that your private info doesn't get out. To start with, only members can search for other members. If you are not friends with someone on the site, you will only be able to see their name and location. To become friends with another member, you need to ask for their permission. Only after that can someone see your profile. Even if you happen to be in the same group as someone else, you will only be able to see their profile if they let you. One thing to note is that if you have joined a group, your name will come up in the member roster.

Will my children's information be made public?

No. There are multiple layers of security built in to protect your children's information. First off, only members you accept as friends will ever see your profile (which includes basic info about your child). And second, you are free to leave your children's profile information blank if you wish.

What are group pages?

Group pages are like an online community where members with similar interests can share a common space. For many of our members, the group pages are a place to keep in touch with their offline playgroups. For others, it's a great way to meet other parents with similar aged children that live near them.

Do I need to be a member to join a group?

Yes. You are welcome to browse public groups as a non-member, but if you want to join the group, you need to become a member of the site. Once you are a member, you can contribute to your group.

What's the difference between a public group and a private group?

Public groups are available to all of our members. Anyone that has an account can join, start participating in discussions, and see event listings. Private groups are a bit different - to join a private group you either need to ask to join the group, or be invited to join by a member of that group. Once you are a member of a private group, you then have access to the group page.

Do the groups listed on your site meet in person?

Yep. A lot of them do. Existing playgroups use our site as a great way to stay in touch with each other and schedule events for their groups. If your group meets in person, we suggest you keep your group private so that only members of your group can see your events.

Are you affiliated with the National Playgroups listed on your site?

No. We are not affiliated with any other groups and do not endorse them. We list them here as a way to help you find an offline playgroup to join.

Do I have to be in a group to plan an event?

Nope. You can plan an event independent of being a group member and can invite anyone you want, members or non-members.
